About these roles

Fintech Python hiring pays better than any other Python vertical in absolute terms because the talent pool overlaps with quant-adjacent C++/Rust roles, and companies have to clear that floor to compete. The trading-tech tier (Hudson River, Citadel, Two Sigma, Jane Street, Optiver, IMC) hires Python for research infrastructure, data pipelines, and risk systems — comp lands $250-475k total at senior, sometimes much higher with bonus. The neobank and payments tier (Monzo, Revolut, Wise, N26, Stripe, Adyen, Mercury) hires Python for backend product and data work — $190-290k senior at the US tier, £100-160k London. Visa sponsorship is realistic at all of these (especially London-based). Interview processes are generally heavier than non-financial scale-ups: 5-7 rounds, take-home + live coding + system design + behavioural, with a culture-fit round at the senior bands.
